Power and Light District Announces New Tenant-Mid-Atlantic Based Celebrity Chef Brings New Concept to Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO –The Cordish Company announced today the addition of a new upscale restaurant and lounge to the Kansas City Power & Light District development – “Vinino by Chef Paternotte”. Vinino by Chef Paternotte will be located in the Kansas City Live! block of the Power & Light District. Vinino’s décor elements create a comfortable bistro type feel and will include an outdoor café seating area. The 6,000 sq. ft. space will be located on the ground floor of the Kansas City Live! block and fronts both the plaza area of Live! and Grand Boulevard. The restaurant is expected to cost in excess of $2,500,000 million to complete.

Vinino by Chef Paternotte will offer inventive American cuisine with a Southern European influence. Vinino will offer Kansas City’s most extensive and exciting wine list with a unique nitrogen preservation system which allows patrons the opportunity to sample up to 24 different wines by the glass including rare and expensive vintages. The restaurant will contain a brick oven and offer gourmet flatbreads and small serving desserts as unique menu items.

Vinino is the creation of Christopher Paternotte, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and former Executive Chef of Kali’s Court and Meze (Baltimore, MD). Chef Paternotte is considered one of the countries top, up-and-coming young chefs and is well respected in the industry for his innovative work in the Mid-Atlantic region. Vinino will be Chef Paternotte’s third restaurant. Chef Paternotte is the creative force behind VIN (Towson, MD) and will open his second VIN (pronounced Vine) location in Houston’s Theatre District in February 2007. “The Vinino concept will allow me to prepare sophisticated cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. I look forward to becoming a part of the Kansas City community,” stated Chef Paternotte. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner daily and will be open seven days a week. Vinino is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007.

Vinino will join previously announced Lucky Strike Lanes in the Kansas City Live! block of the District. Other previously announced tenants of the Power & Light District include: Consentino’s Gourmet Market, Bristol Seafood Grille and AMC’s flagship Mainstreet and Midland Theatres.
